Bloon, the solution to combat the consequences of telecommuting

Bloon is a brand that has created innovative balloon seats and promotes good sitting posture. Indeed, Bloon seats are both design and ergonomic for the greatest comfort of users. Ideal for any interior, they fit perfectly into office or living room design. The seats are thus designed to respond to a problem of sedentary lifestyle intensified by telework. Indeed, the sedentary lifestyle has increased sharply among the French because of the health crisis and all the changes in habit it has engendered.

After almost two years of health crisis, teleworking has become a common practice for companies. Whether it is now entirely teleworking or hybrid, many employees still work from home. However, if teleworking has many advantages, it must be set up in optimal conditions, particularly for the health and well-being of employees. Indeed, working from home implies the establishment of a suitable workstation to avoid the arrival of Musculoskeletal disorders.

According to a study conducted by Malakoff Humanis in June 2020, 27% of teleworkers say that teleworking during confinement has had a negative impact on their physical health. This phenomenon is closely linked to poor posture during working hours. Thus, it is necessary to prevent these risks with suitable furniture. The leader in the distribution of ergonomic furniture for work shows a 96% increase in investments in terms of teleworking station layout in 2021.

Bloon, balloon seats in favor of well-being

Bloon is a young brand that has created a seat that is both ergonomic and design. Founded by Raphael Mille and Kevin Rayess, they put their sales and osteopath skills at the service of a new concept. Indeed, Bloon seats are balloon seats designed to promote a good sitting position. Indeed, the brand was inspired by gymnastics balls to create a seat that promotes good posture for its user.

At the time of telework for a large number of employees, many suffer from back pain related in particular to physical inactivity. In fact, during a 7-hour day, employees spend an average of 5 hours sitting. Thus, the Bloon seat promotes the natural position of the back while making the muscles work. In addition, unlike a gym ball, the seat does not roll uncontrolling because it has a non-slip base to stay on its base.

Headquarters are becoming essential for companies to participate in the well-being of their employees. The Bloon Paris brand is a long-term part of this approach. It offers a balloon seat for better mobility in a prolonged sitting position. Microsoft, SNCF, BPI, Opel, Exki, Stéphane Plaza Immobilier, Leboncoin, Ibis,… and recently The Club Sport Santé in Bordeaux have become followers of the Bloon.

The Club Sport Santé is a club that combines the skills of osteopaths and sports coaches. The latter work on movement, performance and prevention. This club is located in the new premises of Now Coworking,a room of more than 4,000m² that provides companies with meeting, coworking and relaxation rooms on the quays in Bordeaux. A true ally of employees, Bloon is becoming a must-have when it comes to seats.

Inactivity, an increased risk by telework

The health crisis has forced the Government to advocate or even force companies to telework their employees when the profession allows. Indeed, it started in March 2020 during the first containment. Set up quickly and without real preparation, telework is now better controlled a year later.

Thus, telework greatly reduces the movement of employees. Set up to slow the spread of the virus, it is nevertheless the cause of another risk: sedentary lifestyle. Indeed, telework leads to low displacement of employees. Thus, they spend whole days sitting in a chair, without possible sports activities especially because of the different curfews and the closure of the gyms.

Risks can include increased blood pressure, the development or worsening of type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular disease. Thus, to combat physical inactivity, it is important and necessary to achieve at least 30 minutes of physical activity. For this, online sports sessions are available in case of an extended day preventing you from going outside because of the curfew. On weekends, take the opportunity to go for a walk. It is also possible to run or ride a bike to clear your mind.

Inactivity also leads to risks on the back in particular. Indeed, being seated about 7 hours a day, employees can develop Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). It is therefore essential to invest in suitable equipment and to organize a real workspace at home. It is in this situation that Bloon seats appear in order to promote a better posture during telework days in particular.
