The development of the Leboncoin Group, 2020 a year between records and supports

The Leboncoin Group has been able to take advantage of a year of turmoil by continuing its development. Turning the page on 2020, the company is observing a nuanced year. Indeed, the period that we have been through and which we will probably still have to face has been an opportunity to reinvent ourselves. The leader of the circular economy understood this. For the latter, the balance sheet is not so dramatic since he has been able to seize opportunities even in times of crisis. Between support for the economy, record visits, new acquisitions and wage satisfaction, the French platform seems to be adapting even in the face of the worst. COVID-19 does not leave only bad news. It will be said that for Leboncoin, this is another reason to strengthen its commitments. The latter intends to continue to give everyone the power to live better on a daily basis.

The year 2020 will remain marked in our minds. However, for the Leboncoin group, the latter had started rather well, marked by development. Indeed, at the beginning of the year, the group was proud to announce the launch of its new brand platform with an optimistic speech. Alongside the agency DDB Paris, Leboncoin offers a new message (1). The latter is based on a keyword “good.” Thus, “the bon___pour all”” is accompanied by a new graphic charter. The group therefore wishes to mark its ambition to make the voucher accessible to all. Indeed, through Leboncoin, consumers are guaranteed to find what they are looking for. They can find the right job or the right furniture at the best price.

Despite this message and this desire to offer good to consumers, the year has not been easy. COVID-19 has significantly changed the lifestyles of all individuals. Thus, for employees and users, the first containment in March brought new problems. Indeed, with the closure of non-essential businesses and the implementation of physical distance measures, they have had to rethink the way they consume and adapt accordingly.

For the Leboncoin group, adaptation was also the key to maintaining its development during this period. It was essential that services continue to be offered to the 28 million users and 500,000 companies (2). To do this, the group adopted the use of telework. Although little democratized in the territory before the crisis, at Leboncoin it was well received.

Indeed, this year, the group can boast of obtaining the triple label “great place to work” by placing in second place in the ranking. But the Leboncoin group does not stop in such a good way in its stages of development, since it also gets the Best Workplaces for Women. These fine awards are of course linked to the group’s unwavering commitment to its management methods and the management of its human resources. Despite the unprecedented context of 2020, employee satisfaction has not been shaken. Indeed, the group has put initiatives in place to maintain the link between all employees.

Developing to be an engine of the economy in times of crisis

However, the group’s commitment does not stop at an internal commitment. Indeed, the Leboncoin Group offers its development services to many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the territory. The latter have been particularly affected by the crisis. With their backs to the wall, they had to quickly find solutions to keep their heads above water. Thus, by committing itself to the company, Leboncoin is committed to strengthening the dynamism of the territory for example, with support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of less than 10 employees. In addition, the national effort of the address group also ua isolated or frail people. This support translates with operations such as #le good gesture and Solidarity Correspondences. These actions include doing some food shopping for those who need it or offering school support and help with distance homework.

In addition, this year the Leboncoin Group was fortunate to be able to develop by acquiring new platforms. For example, the latter bought Pilgo, an affiliate platform for hotels. The platform has taken the name of Leboncoin Hotel. It allows users to book a hotel by being directly connected to their booking systems. On the classifieds side, the group is growing even more thanks to the acquisition of Ebay Classifieds Groups. Thus, 2020 was a pretty good year for Leboncoin. The latter has more than 29 million users on its platform.

This positive trend was reinforced in particular by the effect of COVID-19, which influenced new purchasing methods for consumers. Indeed, as a result of the measures put in place, they preferred online shopping. In particular, they wanted to make sense of them. It must be said that the crisis has called into question the limits of our present society. It is time to become aware of consumers who realize that we can consume, good and better. So, whether in Bordeaux or elsewhere, everyone can make the choice, to give a second life to a sofa still in very good condition, or, then consume at a local craftsman.
