Highlighting the G20 2019 Young Entrepreneurs in Japan
G20 leaders will meet very soon in Osaka, Japan, on 28 and 29 June 2019 as part of the international consultation. This major event is also in the form of a G20 of Young Entrepreneurs and aims to highlight the role of entrepreneurs as an engine of growth, innovation, job creation and economic and social sustainability. On this occasion, 36 French entrepreneurs, including three New Aquitaine entrepreneurs, met in Fukuoka, Japan.
The G20 Young Entrepreneurs (YEA) met in Fukuoka, Japan
The G20 is made up of 19 countries and the European Union and meet each year at the international consultation. It accounts for 85% of world trade, two-thirds of the world’s population and more than 90% of the world’s gross product. Its weight in international relations is therefore substantial. This year, the European Union will be represented by President Donald Tusk and the President of the European Commission. The main themes will be:
economic growth and reducing inequality
quality infrastructure and health
global issues such as climate change and plastic waste in the oceans
the digital economy
the challenges posed by ageing societies
The Young Entrepreneur’s Alliance (YEA) G20 is a global network of associations of innovative business leaders and job creators in G20 countries. It is also held annually in the host country of the G20. 500,000 young entrepreneurs and organizations support the YEA. Born in 2009 at the G20 summit in Italy, the YEA publishes an annual report on a common theme. The 2019 edition focused on the theme of “imagining an economy that can guarantee a sustainable future”. Published September 21, 2018, the YEA has developed three concrete recommendations:
Quality education: Governments need to implement education policies to promote project-by-project approaches that promote intellectual freedom and initiative, develop skills such as critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, etc. The aim is to strengthen the relationship between education and research and development for companies and organisations and to foster a culture of cooperation and trust;
International mobility: The global economy is growing and requires the free mobility of key job creators. YEA recommends that governments extend existing youth mobility agreements and business visitation programs to young entrepreneurs;
Taxation: Governments must adjust tax thresholds to meet entrepreneurs’ turnovers, simplify and digitize the tax compliance process, and implement tax policies that take equity-based compensation (capital) into account.

On this occasion, they were able to express their visions of the world and the future, “Today, SMEs account for 80% of net employment growth in the G20 countries. The voice of young French entrepreneurs must be heard. How can we create more responsible companies that are more in tune with today’s environmental and societal challenges? This summit in Japan is a real opportunity to interact with entrepreneurs from the 20 G20 countries and to influence our governments,” said Cyril Dané, CEO of AIO.
The challenges of the G20 and the G20 YEA are becoming more and more important year after year, shaping the world of today and tomorrow. The G20 YEA makes numerous recommendations to governments each year to anticipate future transitions and problems. Entrepreneurs are the heart of the economy and carry with them the innovations of tomorrow. Governments must therefore adapt quickly and follow the advice of economic actors.
