Kaufman Broad equips the Clinique Mutualiste de Pessac with a new consultation centre

Since February 2020, Kaufman Broad has been in the middle of construction at the Clinique Mutualiste de Pessac. Despite work carried out in a context of health crisis, the construction site has not been delayed. Indeed, Kaufman Broad at the head of the works adapts to allow the delivery of the project at the end of 2021. The work begun aims to contribute to the development of the Clinic. The expansion of the care facility was more than necessary to maintain proper functioning. Indeed, the Clinique Mutualiste de Pessac is the first non-public healthcare provider in Gironde. Since its creation, it has continued to develop to meet the needs of the inhabitants of the region. Today it wants to welcome more patients thanks to a brand new building that meets the current challenges.

A private clinic in full development

The Clinique Mutualiste de Pessac is part of the non-profit institution pavillon de la mutualité -Mutualité Française Gironde. In Nouvelle Aquitaine it is the first group of mutual care offers. Within this institution there are 50 structures that offer care to meet the health needs of the entire population in the territory.

Since 1963, the Clinique Mutualiste has been developing a little more every year. Today, it must respond in particular to the needs of a constantly changing population. Indeed, according to INSEE figures, the Gironde population increased from 1,286,072 inhabitants in 1999 to 1,601,845 inhabitants in 2018. More specifically, these figures represent a 27% increase in the population. Thus, she adapts in order to offer the necessary care alongside Kaufman Broad. The Clinique Mutualiste de Pessac has therefore integrated new cutting-edge activities into its services. As a private clinic, it also wants to ensure affordability for all patients. Consequently, it has set up the third-party payment on scheduled care and emergencies as well as the Zero Rest to Charge for insured social patients.

In parallel with these adaptations to facilitate access to care, the clinic has also undergone transformations. It has equipped itself with an outpatient service, a medical imaging service, a laboratory and a 3T MRI. In February 2021, the clinic also opened a new multipurpose medicine department to respond to hospital tensions during the winter.

The latest project underway is that of the new consultation hub by Kaufman Broad. The project proposes a pole that is divided into 2 parts. In particular, there will be an outpatient centre on 3 floors that will accommodate 671 people. A cafeteria takes place following on the ground floor. If this expansion is intended to respond to the growth of the population, it will also be an opportunity to rethink the organization of the clinic. Indeed, the new building will host the activity of the analytical laboratory as well as the New Optical Center.

Thanks to long exchanges with the different poles of the clinic, Kaufman Broad has focused on the comfort and quality of use of the building. Thus, with a desire for innovation and according to the needs of professionals, Kaufman Broad has brought its know-how. In particular, the company has created empty areas in the building that will be intended to consider new offices or spaces. In addition, the orientation of patients and visitors will be simple. Indeed, two pedestrian walkways will make it possible to streamline traffic within the place. In addition, a new car park with 149 spaces will allow easy parking.

Kaufman Broad orchestrates the project without false notes despite a context of health crisis

Kaufman Broad was therefore chosen by the mutualist clinic to carry out the work on the site. The company has been building, developing and marketing no less than 50 properties for no less than 50 properties. Today it is tackling the development project of the Clinique Mutualiste de Pessac, despite a complex health context. Indeed, Kaufman Broad began work at the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis.

The context could have slowed down the progress of the work, but Kaufman Broad was able to adapt to meet his commitments. The delivery of the building at the end of 2021 is well maintained. Today, it must be said that the main work has been completed. The installation of carpentry, plastering and state bodies is underway. On the other hand, the start-up of the secondary bodies took place during the month of June in the same way as the provision of empty shells for the development of the first services. Finally the structural work, the exterior carpentry and the cladding of the cafeteria are finished.

Beyond controlling its deadlines, Kaufman Broad brings an enriching vision to the project. Indeed the reflection was conducted around a sustainable and responsible project that values natural resources and energies. Thus the materials used are environmentally friendly materials and nature is highlighted in green spaces or it is directly integrated into the building. In this sense, Kaufman Broad marks its capacity for innovation and adaptation by offering a project that responds to both social and environmental challenges.
