Last updated:

Every year, with the arrival of Spring, the city of Bordeaux hosts the International Wine Challenge within it. An event that makes perfect sense in one of the international wine capitals, in the presence of many connoisseurs and producers of the best products in the world.

The largest international wine competition held in France

Created in 1976, the International Wine Challenge is regularly organized by the CDV (Competition des Vins – association law 1901) located near Bourg, not far from Bordeaux.
Its mission is to select the best vintages in the world. Each year, during two mornings, about 5,000 wines from 38 different countries are presented and savoured in Bordeaux by more than 800 experienced professionals and consumers. Thus, the International Wine Challenge is the oldest of the major international wine competitions. This title is part of a historical and certified quality approach. It attests to the seriousness, credibility, technicality and experience of the organization.

Indeed, it sets up the event for the most discerning wine lovers. The topics of fermentation, acidity, the type of vines, the temperature of preservation, winemaking, viticulture or livestock are usually found in the conversations of enthusiasts. At the centre of the conversation are castles and wineries. Each of them has a special history that gives the wine a form of added value and differentiation. And cIt is in the form of a tasting open to all wines and spirits of wine origin (regardless of vintage) that the competition takes place. All bottles are naturally ready for sale.
