The healthy and vegan Hamburger is invited on the plates

“Eating well is the beginning of happiness.” This slogan makes perfect sense in the face of the arrival of the healthy and vegan Hamburger. Indeed, in recent years, new diets have been developed with many values. Today, these new regimes represent convictions. For some eating must be akin to personal well-being, for others it must be synonymous with an ethical and environmental struggle. As a result, food manufacturers are facing these new trends and need to innovate to meet the needs of consumers. The Spanish brand Heura, has seized the opportunity by creating the healthyest healthy and vegan Hamburger in the world (1)

New ways of eating

To this day, consumers seem to be increasingly concerned about their well-being. This concept has been reinforced in particular by the COVID-19 crisis. The food scandal in the Chinese markets, but also the worries in the food industry have led consumers to rethink their food. So for their well-being, more and more of them want to eat better. New food trends are emerging. Among these, there is the “healthy food” trend. This trend comes from California and it consists of eating healthily while adapting the way it consumes. For example, quality foods should be preferred for pleasure. It is then possible to eat a healthy and vegan burger. The main objective is to have a better diet but also to contribute to the planet.

On the other hand, we see the trend for vegandiets. In this regime, it is a question of conviction. Indeed, people are fighting over the ethical issue of animal breeding for food. The vegetarian diet also meets other principles. For example, staying healthy by preventing cardiovascular disease, diabetes and being overweight. Indeed, studies have shown that the vegetarian diet is associated with a decrease in the mortality rate due to cardiovascular disease (2)

More and more establishments are dedicated to these food modes. The Wild Note Vegan Burger in Bordeaux offers burgers and vegetarian dishes. On the food industry side, we are also seeing offers appearing. Heura’s healthiest healthy and vegan Burger is a response to this need.

An innovative healthy and vegan burger to eat better and healthier

The start-up Heura is a player in vegan food because it offers 100% vegetable meats. Founded by food activists Marc Colona and Bernat Aaos, the start-up wants to revolutionize the food sector with its healthy and vegan burger. Indeed, it wants to innovate within the current food system to shake up the current codes deemed obsolete. In addition, it wants to accelerate the food transition. He wants to see a world in which animals are out of the protein production equation.

Today, its ambitions are realized as it has a growth of 460%. It is already present in 3000 outlets in Spain and Andorra, as well as in Portugal, France, the Netherlands, Singapore, Hong Kong, Chile and the United Kingdom. Always with the aim of shaking up the industry to impose its codes and provide a response to new consumers, the brand has set itself the challenge of offering the healthiest healthy and vegan burger in the world.

For the vegetable industry it was a real challenge to create a healthy and vegan burger with the appearance of beef without using so much fat. The burger contains 64.25% less fat than a traditional beef burger. To do this, Heura developed the first fat analogue based on extra virgin olive oil. The goal is to create a realistic food with the sensory experience of meat. Reducing the environmental impact of livestock consumption and improving health also comes into play. To answer this, Heura highlights his Mediterranean heritage. It uses olive oil, which is better for your health and more durable than coconut oil or palm oil. Thus, after many trials the brand is proud to offer the fleshy and juicy experience of an animal burger with a vegetable burger that has only 6.5 grams of fat.

There are still few players to meet the new consumer demand for healthy and vegetarian products. Indeed, as Heura shows with its healthy and vegan burger, the food sector remains anchored in an obsolete model that does not necessarily seem to adapt. That’s why the latter chose to shake up the codes and innovate to offer what is also a hope for the food of tomorrow.
