In this period of health crisis, it is indeed a question of giving visibility and perspective to the business of tomorrow. COVID-19 does not stop the will to undertake and innovate, on the contrary. What if humans considered this period to reinvent themselves and surpass their achievements? The competition proposed by the CIC is an opportunity to develop in this direction. By being selected, each company can participate in an acceleration day with experts and professionals. And finally, the competition will also be an opportunity to meet investors, decision-makers, the media as well as actors of the innovation ecosystem in order to promote your project. Here is an event to follow closely. This desire to highlight innovation and new business is timely. A dynamic between business and innovation that breathes new life into the business world in this period of doubt. Thinking about tomorrow is not an option and the crisis keeps reminding us of this. Innovation and its actors do not give up. Together and through the challenge of the Start Innovation Business Awards, the actors are working hard to build a better “tomorrow”.

CIC Start Innovation Business Awards, highlighting innovation

In a particular context, where innovation has a place more than ever, CIC encourages entrepreneurs to innovate. For the first year, CIC Bank is launching its call for multi-regional projects. The aim is to support the entrepreneurs and the solutions of tomorrow. Indeed, each of the players competed in their region for a first selection. Held on December 15, 2020, the final will take place in Paris. Broadcast on social networks, the event is 100% digital. The spectators were able to follow the jury’s presentations and deliberations live.

The winners of the CIC Start Innovation Business Awards are thus invited to the national final in Paris.

For this first edition of the Start Innovation Business Awards CIC South West, 3 start-ups stood out. Thus, the Espoir Innovation Prize was awarded to Magic Pallet, a more logical and ecological pallet return management start-up. Then, the Pessacese start-up InHeart won the International Prize. It offers technology to model the heart in 3D using state-of-the-art technology. Finally, the Jury’s Coup de Coeur was awarded to Kyanos Biotechnologies, a start-up that produces microalgae. Thus, the two winners of the Espoir Innovation Awards and the International Prizes of each region will compete in the national final in Paris.

Innovating, a story of the future

Innovation is a real factor in development. As a result, like the CIC, companies and organisations are putting in place calls for projects to boost innovations in the territory. Indeed, many problems need to be addressed and calls for projects allow us to participate in the response. This is the case with calls for projects in terms of ecology, to make the future more sustainable and responsible. This allows, among other things, to change behaviour, modify infrastructures and propose alternative solutions. This is particularly the case with the call for projects organised by ADEME and the New Aquitaine Region (1). Thus, it aims to mobilize, build and develop an approach of Industrial and Territorial Ecology (EIT).

However, it can also concern health, especially in the context of the health crisis we are experiencing. For example, the NRA launched a call for projects on Covid-19 in March 2020. It funded 86 projects related to the global pandemic (2).

Calls for projects allow us to highlight innovations and thus contribute to the evolution of society, while responding to current problems.
