Meritis, the valuation of women in Tech

Meritis, a company specializing in consulting and support when digitizing companies takes inclusion into its company to heart. Indeed, in the engineeringsector, women are under-represented and this sector remains mainly male. To remedy this, Meritis is committed to promoting gender diversity but also the female vocation through several actions. This includes equal pay, equal opportunities and equal treatment. Thanks to its measures taken, Meritis achieved a score of 95/100 on its professional equality index. This index is determined by a questionnaire issued by the Ministry of Labour. It takes into account the gender pay gap, the gap in increases and promotions, etc.

In addition, inclusion in the company becomes a real societal challenge,in order to place each employee at the same level. Equal treatment must be respected in order to promote well-being in business in particular.

Meritis, the company that promotes gender diversity

Meritis is a consulting and support company for companies wishing to digitalize. Founded in 2007 by Sébastien Videment and Gilles Duret, Meritis has no less than 6 main areas of expertise. These include agility, project management (MOA), data, piloting and safety. She accompanies her clients from start to finish with the help of 600 consultants. The company’s sector of activity is engineering, so there are two types of employees. First of all the support and commercial functions are based at Meritis headquarters. And finally, the consultants are on a mission with Meritis clients.

Since its inception, Meritis has made a point of doing the well-being of its employees. It is in this dynamic that society defends the place of women in the company but also in the sector. Indeed, the tech sector is predominantly male. Nevertheless, Meritis does not see it this way and wants to let women invest in the sector as much as men. As a result, women are now an integral part of society with an increase in recruitment of 29%. Equal opportunity and treatment is an essential aspect. This contributes to the general well-being of its employees regardless of their gender.

Meritis placed 3rd in the Great Place To Work 2020 ranking.

It is thanks to this inclusive policy that Meritis achieved a score of 95/100 on professional equality. Indeed, women make up a third of the company’s total workforce while the engineering sector accounts for only 22% of women. In addition, women have access to senior positions, including on the Executive Committee.

Meritis thus implements numerous actions to promote diversity and encourage women’s vocation in the tech and engineering sector. Between fixed entry pay schedules, events for women engineers or a communication campaign called “Women in Tech”, Meritis integrates women perfectly into its equality policy.

Inclusive business policy, a societal issue

In the same dynamic as Meritis, each company must apply a policy of inclusion within its company. Wanting is good, power is better. Indeed, inclusion is the fact of being able to integrate everyone, regardless of their religious or political beliefs, gender, sexual preferences etc. Thus, an inclusive company has many advantages especially in terms of the well-being of employees but not only. Indeed, diversity leads to better working relationships, with different ways of thinking. Better working relationship means better employee productivity and thus better customer relations.

Inclusion also applies to people with disabilities. Indeed, any employer with at least 20 employees musthire people with disabilities up to at least 6% of its overall workforce. The employer must report the number of employees employed each year. If this is not the case, he is obliged to pay an annual contribution to the Agefiph. The amount therefore relates to the number of persons with disabilities that he should have employed according to his total workforce.

Inclusion is therefore both a source of well-being, productivity and maturity of the company. This can set itself apart from its competitors, as customers and/or suppliers can identify more with an inclusive company.
