Obvy, facilitating the launch of e-commerce companies

Obvy is deploying on the market, providing support to companies for the launch in e-commerce. With the Covid-19 pandemic, which arrived overnight in France, small businesses had to adapt to health measures… And more particularly their inability to remain open to the public to sell their products. E-commerce then appeared as an ideal solution to allow them to continue their activity. But for many, the transition to digital was a first, a forced turn very delicate to initiate, for lack of benchmarks and skills; especially from the point of view of software to operate efficiently.

Obvy, an actor committed to the side of traders

In the face of the pandemic, new modes of consumption are emerging, including online shopping via digital technology. A sometimes forced march for the 4 million or so small and medium-sized enterprises in France. The boom in marketplaces such as Amazon or CDiscount shows that the French are indeed turning to online shopping, to continue consuming without leaving their homes. For such a process, which usually takes several months to set up, these companies have not had as much time. It was then necessary to find a quick solution, software with an easy grip … In order to be operational as quickly as possible.

But setting up an online sales site, or even a click and collect sales system is not an easy task, so that nearly 66% of VSEs and SMEs still did not have a website in January 2021… And therefore, did not make any online sales. Aware of this loss of revenue, faced with the dominance of international marketplaces, 34% of local VSEs and SMEs are doing everything they can to accelerate their digital transformation. After the construction of their e-commerce site, it is still to use software for the purchase, shipping, tracking and inventory management with suppliers, to name a few.

And here, the situation becomes more complex, more tedious. There is as much software as there are actions, which is not easy for companies. Obvy made this observation, and noted that the cautiousness of companies in the face of time and effort to train employees was a real obstacle to this transition. It was then necessary to facilitate this aspect of management as much as possible, so that companies focus above all on their customer relationship. But above all, that their launch is as easy and fast as possible.

An all-in-one software for online sales

Pure-players come with a lot of features. Features that allow them to offer more services to their customers during the purchase. For large sums, the possibility of paying in instalments; or even to choose his carrier to be delivered… Services that have a cost, and require technical knowledge to set them up on a website. But Obvy is aware that small businesses lack the time, money and skills to deal with them.

Obvy’s teams then worked on the design of a software that encompasses all the features that most pure-players have… So that integration is cheaper, faster and easier to handle. For example, if a company wanted the integration and development of payment flows, functionalities and mechanics of transactions, means of payment and logistics solutions… This would take between 6 and 9 months. The investment cost would be more than €100,000 in the first year.

With the solution proposed by Obvy, the observation is quite different. It requires on average less than two months of work… For an investment of around €10,000 over the first year. An important difference, which is not negligible for a small local merchant who wants to turn to digital to strengthen his activity.

In addition, once it is set up, the digital operation allows the company to deploy its activity beyond its local circle. This is a mode of operation to be perpetuated, to relaunch on activity, and find a new clientele. A turn already taken in many sectors… And which, thanks to Obvy, also makes it possible to connect French VSEs and SMEs.
