Offices, a layout that is renewed

Will offices within companies definitely change their face? The layout of workspaces remains an essential issue as it directly impacts the lives of employees in their company. With the pandemic, significant changes have taken place. Changes in work habits, with the implementation of teleworking… But also a different relationship to the offices. Indeed, the isolation of employees at home encourages to revive exchanges, collaborative work. When employees return to the office, companies take a turn and evolve workspaces.

Offices are turning to collaborative spaces

Placing people at the heart of their space is a goal to take into account for offices since the return of lockdowns. Rethinking the ergonomics of workspaces by arranging offices differently cannot be improvised. This depends in particular on several criteria such as the number of employees present, the objectives of the company and the possible configurations of the spaces.

The health measures put in place by the Government have changed the way businesses operate. More space to provide, even shifts so that each employee can work in good conditions… It is a whole organization to review, to allow everyone to feel good in the premises of the company, while optimizing the productivity of each.

The new offices therefore still have an essential use, despite what the first lockdowns may have suggested… But this utility is different. Indeed, before the pandemic, in most offices, each employee had his own space, which he did not share. Offices sometimes have a meeting room, isolated from other workstations, to allow you to receive employees or customers in a closed place.

In other open space spaces, everyone also stayed in their place, without having much exchange. Today, the faces of the new offices are different, more open to collaboration, exchanges, mixing. These spaces are intended to encourage collective work, meetings, in order to make time profitable and increase group cohesion. After all the time spent working from home, this has impacted social relations within companies. This operation therefore aims to renew contact between the employees of the same company.

The new workspaces will be modular

If there is one thing that seduces business leaders and their employees, it is the possibilities of developing office spaces. These previously fixed spaces, with a single purpose (individual workspaces) are now more shapeable according to the uses of companies. As a way, employees are no longer confined to a single office. Depending on the tasks and missions entrusted to them, they can bring the workspaces together with the other employees of the team to work together.

With sanitary measures, the spaces are larger, or at least redesigned in their layout. They then make it possible to facilitate exchanges, to create new spaces to work together. In addition, with the implementation of the hybrid mode of work, alternating between telework and face-to-face … Employees rotate, which gives everyone more space when they move to the office.

Employees are therefore changing the way they look at the office, turning to new ways of working. For managers, the issue of well-being in companies and adopting a CSR approach also encourages the evolution of workspaces. Propose spaces more adapted to the development of each, but also bet on equipment that promotes concentration and work… These are goals that many companies set for themselves.

Also, to support them in this transition process, many companies specializing in development offer their services. Depending on the size and objectives of the client companies, they offer them the most suitable office configurations.
