PressReader, international press from Bordeaux

Last updated:

PressReader begins its press development in Europe from Bordeaux. PressReader is looking to set up its European stronghold in Bordeaux to drive its development in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

What is PressReader? More than 5,000 press titles broadcast in 100 countries, in more than 60 languages. It is a way of discovering and disseminating the press differently, which tends to be more in tune with this new way of consuming magazines and newspapers. It allows you to manage streams based on the themes, to find the information that interests you quickly, through a single interface.

The world of the press from Canada to Africa

Created in 1999, in Vancouver,PressReader has been able to anticipate changes in the behaviour of the consumer of the press, and to offer this kiosk with a digital dimension. The Europe, Middle East and Africa (OR EMEA) area, on which it has been active for 9 years, already accounts for 40% of their business.

The company offers a real aggregator of content with streams coming from the press. Its offer is also aimed directly at businesses. For example, a firm will be able to offer digital content from the press directly to its customers. This service will be able to add value, as for hotels.

PressReader also doesn’t just “simply” aggregate the content. Whether it’s through the app available on the Play Store for Android, on the App Store for iPhones, but also on Windows Phone and Blackberry, or via a computer or tablet, the interface also allows you to share the article, comment on it, add it as favorites, etc.

PressReader at the gates of Bordeaux

In France, for example, nearly 600 press titles have been broadcast via their platform.

The choice to set up shop in Bordeaux was motivated by the future arrival of the LGV Paris-Bordeaux, transport boom, but also for the recognized quality of Bordeaux’s healthcare sector, recently supported by the Ranking of the Point which placed the Bordeaux University Hospital at the top of the hospitals in France. Bordeaux’s dynamism has also been taken into account, as has the development of Bordeaux-Mérignac airport.
