City of Wine and current debates

Last updated:

The Cité du Vin develops its activity with, in addition to the organization of its permanent exhibition and its temporary exhibitions… A series of events animated by debates around wine. Current topics for professionals in the sector, but also for amateurs or neophytes… The beginnings organized within the Cité du Vin aim to react, to discover, and share. Events that are held throughout the year, according to defined issues.

C in Wine, an event in the heart of the Cité du Vin

Organized by the Foundation for the Culture and Civilization of Wine in partnership with the Kedge School of Commerce, the “C in Wine” debate series is organized in the Bordeaux Wine City, inaugurated at the end of May 2016. The aim of these debates, free and open to all, is to talk about relatively little-discussed topics at traditional conferences, with topics of interest. Three guests, specialists or professionals in the world of wine, intervene in the one-and-a-half-hour debates and interact with the audience present, while answering questions from Jacques-Olivier PESME, Director of KEDGE’s Wine & Spirit Academy. The first of these panel discussions took place on 11 October 2016, around the following problem: “Is the price of wine a guarantee of quality?”

A meeting every two months, around various issues concerning wine, such as the consumption of wine in the presidential elections, determine whether the wine is aphrodisiac or whether rosé is considered a wine.

This project is timely; launched in the heart of the world capital of wine, which speaks to all lovers around the world.

Three other conferences organized at the Cité du Vin, are still free access for all. See you on December 13, February 14, 2017, April 11, 2017 and June 13, 2017. Places limited, given the capacity of the place … And it’s a safe bet that these debates will always attract more people as they go along…

A place for meetings, exchanges and sharing

The Cité du Vin occupies a prominent place in art and culture in Bordeaux. Indeed, this museum is located in the heart of an environment where wine occupies an essential place. To promote the history of wine, the terroir par excellence of the region. Every year, this territory attracts millions of visitors from all over the world in search of discovery and tasting.

But with the pandemic, it is difficult to attract tourists who cannot come to France. In order to compensate for this problem… The Cité du Vin then put forward its exchange programs and debates to make the wine more original. To attract a new clientele, composed of locals, or French people from elsewhere… In search of taste and discovery.
