Sakado, a new gesture of solidarity in New Aquitaine

The Sakado association, present all over France, is deploying its project in the city of Bordeaux. The goal is to distribute backpacks to the homeless, containing everything they may need. Donations from college students, individuals and businesses, the project hopes to collect between 50 and 70 bags. Companies can also participate in this type of project through CSR actions.

The Sakado project moves to Bordeaux

Sakado is an association created in 2005 to help those in need. Thus, present in more than 120 cities, it arrived in Bordeaux this year. Camille Jenny, head of the Sakado Bordeaux team, launched the project in September 2020. Set up with the student office (BDE) of the Bordeaux School of Biotechnology Engineering (ENSTBB), it aims to collect donations at the end of the year. Thus, the donations are in the form of bags filled with 4 kits, then distributed to the homeless of the city. The project is already implemented in 7 colleges in the region. Indeed, each student can participate in the gift, and this, at the height of his means. There is therefore an organized harvest in each class of participating colleges, representing a bag of 40 liters or 50 liters.

The Sakado Bordeaux project can also be carried out by individuals and businesses. In fact, you just have to fill a backpack with the 4 packs (heat, culture, hygiene and festive) and then go to the ADMR in Bordeaux on Thursday morning. There is also the possibility of contacting the project manager directly to arrange an appointment.

Sakado Bordeaux has a partnership with the Red Cross to organize distributions. In addition, the project also has a partnership with Decathlon Mérignac, in order to give donors a discount on the bags they wish to give to Sakado Bordeaux.

Businesses in the service of solidarity

Many Bordeaux companies perform good deeds, in a CSR dynamic. Several actions can be put in place to contribute to a more sustainable and integral society. Thus, this goes through themes such as ecology through waste reduction and management, paper consumption management and many others. In addition, it also involves ethical behaviour. Promoting diversity in the company, the employment of young people and seniors, are part of it. Membership in an association can thus be part of it. Organize general collections of goods for those in need in particular. It also creates a sense of belonging to a group and does a good deed.

Organizing it within the company helps motivate employees to follow suit. This make it easier for employees and the association to collect. This allows donations to be grouped in one place and thus retrieved in one go.

This gives your business a sustainable and ethical dimension by implementing good CSR practices.
