Spareka, for self-repair

Confinements, savings and sustainable development, online support and repair platforms are exploding. Spareka, a start-up that accompanies consumers from the identification of a breakdown to repair, surfs the trend. It offers a personalized accompaniment, in order to repair its own appliances.

In the dynamics of containment, Spareka accompanies you

Containment 2.0 has now been in place for 3 weeks throughout the territory. This make it more difficult for professionals to travel to perform repairs and diagnoses. This is why consumers are using more online services. The dematerialisation and digitalization of the service sector therefore makes sense in a health context such as this one. Thus, online services are useful in a large number of areas. There is also the phenomenon of dematerialization of the service for medical appointments of all types.

Thus, the start-up Spareka aims to effectively support consumers in the process of repairing broken devices. Thus, all this is done online, either via free tutorials or by connecting a repair expert. In order to continue to meet a growing demand, it is again recruiting technicians. Thus, Spareka sees a 150% increase in video repairs with their technicians in 2020 (2). The start-up also offers an e-shop to allow consumers to buy the parts needed to repair their devices. Thus, the process of “do it yourself” or “do yourself” is increasingly in vogue among individuals in particular and covers all styles of activities.

It’s possible to give the devices a second life!

Repairing yourself is now a practice that has entered the mores. According to a study for Spareka, 70% of French people have already repaired objects themselves instead of replacing them (2). This practice is mainly motivated by economic reasons. Indeed, self-repair does not require the use of a professional and thus avoids an often expensive trip. Tuto videos are thus preferred in order to minimize costs but is often not enough. This is where a professional comes in via video. Being less expensive than a physical intervention, it still allows consumers to benefit from quality expertise. The aim is to extend the life of the devices. These are all solutions that correspond to the expectations of consumers in a sometimes economically complicated period.

In addition, it reduces the ecological impact. In fact, 37 tonnes of CO2 have been avoided since the creation of Spareka (3). As business ethics take a significant place in the minds of consumers, it is important to introduce ecology into its practices. Thus, this includes participation in the reduction of waste, greenhouse gas emissions … Indeed, the sectors that allow us to participate in the preservation of the environment are therefore promising. This is partly because of consumers’ interest in them.
